About Technology Innovation Institute
The Technology Innovation Institute (TII), funded by public sources and situated in Abu Dhabi, UAE, hosts an internationally diverse team of scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and researchers dedicated to advancing society through innovative research and development of technology prototypes.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and sustain CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins or GitLab CI tools.
- Promote the application of GitOps methodologies in deployment and configuration management.
- Oversee and enhance Kubernetes clusters, including EKS and self-managed versions.
- Deploy and control infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible.
- Automate maintenance tasks with Bash scripting alongside other scripting languages.
- Work closely with development teams and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient software release cycles.
- Deploy monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for production environments.
- Administer and optimize deployment processes within AWS cloud platforms, covering services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, and EKS.
- Diagnose and resolve production-level issues while ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of systems.
- Drive ongoing enhancement of DevOps methodologies, automation, and team workflows.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience working as a DevOps Engineer or in a comparable capacity.
- Extensive practical knowledge in deploying, scaling, and monitoring Kubernetes environments.
- Expertise with GitOps tools and workflows such as Argo CD or FluxCD.
- Proficiency in creating CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD platforms.
- Advanced skills in Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure deployment.
- Experience in utilizing Ansible for configuration automation and system provisioning.
- Strong command of Bash scripting and Linux systems administration.
- Substantial experience with AWS cloud services.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and microservices architecture best practices.
- Knowledge in monitoring and observability frameworks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
Education and Certifications
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related STEM field is required.
- Possession of DevOps, development, or systems engineering certifications is advantageous.
