About the Role

Ryanair is seeking a Deputy General Manager to join at the early phase of its Engine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) project. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the creation and management of Ryanair's inaugural Engine Shop—a cutting-edge facility designed to overhaul and test over 200 CFM56 & LEAP-1B engines annually. Initially, the role will be based at Ryanair's Engineering Headquarters in Dublin before transitioning to the new Engine MRO facility once operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a newly formed team for the engine shop.
  • Establish and evolve processes and workplace culture in this flagship facility.
  • Promote innovation within engine MRO operations for Europe’s largest airline.
  • Manage day-to-day oversight of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair, and cleaning of more than 200 engines yearly, emphasizing efficiency and budget adherence.
  • Foster a culture prioritizing safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement as an integral member of the management team.
  • Implement and leverage advanced technology to optimize performance and reliability processes.
  • Oversee procurement activities including parts, tooling, and supplier management.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
  • Plan manpower resources, supervise recruitment efforts, and forecast staffing needs for the MRO division.
  • Handle additional responsibilities involved in the ongoing growth and development of the MRO operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Engine MRO, ideally within a leadership capacity.
  • Proven expertise in people leadership and project management.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality assurance, and operational efficiency.
  • Track record of successfully delivering scalable results.
  • Unrestricted right to live and travel freely within Europe is mandatory.
