Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers an excellent opportunity to advance your expertise within the retail sector. This role involves delivering outstanding customer service aligned with Walmart's core values, maintaining the deli section, and assisting with inventory management and sales operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the deli department layout effectively.
• Rotate stock regularly and inspect items for expiry to ensure product freshness.
• Verify that all items are properly labeled and priced according to standards.
• Comply with cold chain requirements, including calibrating thermometers, recording temperatures, handling food safely, and managing product rotation and shelf-life.
• Take customer orders, prepare deli products such as sliced meats, cheeses, and fried chicken, and support customers as needed.
• Assist front-end staff with price verifications when requested.
• Prepare orders by using equipment like slicers and rotisserie ovens; prepare salads, side dishes, and specialty deli items for display and customer orders.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area free of debris and hazards.

Compensation

The position starts at a minimum hourly wage of $18.70.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
