Role Overview

Key Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the self-checkout area, ensuring it is free from clutter, debris, spills, and foreign objects.
• Support promotion of Walmart's programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charity initiatives when relevant.
• Assist customers in using self-checkout efficiently, monitoring activity, offering help when required, explaining interventions kindly, and escalating cash or technical problems to management.
• Respond promptly to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms, following procedures and documenting incidents accurately.
• Ensure that Scan & Go devices are returned to assigned storage after use.
• Demonstrate scheduling flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays according to store needs.

Challenges of the Position

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting, particularly for overnight shifts by maintaining energy and focus.
• Complete restocking and store recovery duties with accuracy and timeliness despite heavy workload.
• Handle physical demands including prolonged standing, bending, and lifting items up to 20 lbs regularly, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive tasks like stocking and organizing with thoroughness to maintain store standards.

The starting hourly wage for this role is $16.50.
