Job description
Role Overview
The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction, and achieving sales targets. This role also assumes managerial responsibilities during the absence of the Store Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager with daily operational tasks and staff management.
- Participate in visual merchandising, restocking shelves, and processing daily shipments including packing and unpacking.
- Deliver exemplary customer service and address escalated customer concerns.
- Train, mentor, and develop store employees.
- Manage cash handling procedures as well as opening and closing the store as needed.
- Delegate tasks to team members and ensure the store’s safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with store policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Maintain high visual presentation standards throughout the store.
- Oversee hiring processes and employee performance assessments.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working in retail environments.
- A minimum of 2 years in supervisory or management roles.
- Flexibility and availability to work during days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
