About the Role

Join Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate and enhance your retail experience through dedicated customer service and diligent department management. This position supports the store's core values by maintaining an organized deli area, managing inventory effectively, and assisting in sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the deli section ensuring it remains well-zoned and appealing.
• Rotate stock systematically and perform checks on product expiration to uphold freshness.
• Guarantee merchandise is accurately labeled with appropriate pricing.
• Follow all cold chain protocols, including thermometer calibration, accurate temperature documentation, safe food handling, and strict adherence to product rotation based on sell-by and expiration dates.
• Take and prepare deli orders including slicing meats, cheeses, fried chicken, and other specialty items as requested by customers.
• Support front-end associates by assisting with price verifications.
• Utilize deli equipment such as slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers to prepare food, and replenish prepared salads and sides within the display area.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace, removing debris and ensuring fixture safety.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is CAD 18.05.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age or older.
