About the Role

The Dealership Porter plays a vital role within the service and sales departments by ensuring dealership vehicles, customer spaces, and overall property remain clean, orderly, and welcoming. This role supports smooth dealership operations through vehicle movement, lot upkeep, and customer assistance, contributing to a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely move and park customer, inventory, and service vehicles throughout the dealership premises.
  • Keep the vehicle lot tidy and well-organized.
  • Wash, vacuum, and clean vehicles as assigned.
  • Transport vehicles between service areas, fueling stations, and car wash facilities.
  • Aid sales and service teams with vehicle preparations and relocations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of showroom, waiting rooms, sidewalks, and parking zones.
  • Inspect vehicles for visible cleanliness or presentation issues and report any concerns to management.
  • Manage keys and vehicle locations following dealership guidelines.
  • Assist customers in locating vehicles or directing them to the correct departments.
  • Dispose of trash and ensure tidy workspaces.
  • Complete dealership errands and additional duties as needed.
  • Adhere strictly to all dealership safety protocols and vehicle handling standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a reasonably clean driving history.
  • Dependable attendance and reliable personal transportation.
  • Competency in driving both automatic and manual transmission vehicles, if applicable.
  • Capability to work outside under various weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform manual tasks throughout the workday.
  • Keen attention to detail and pride in maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Effective communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude.
  • Prior experience in automotive or dealership environments is advantageous but not mandatory.

Physical Demands and Work Setting

The position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and handling vehicles or equipment. It requires safely performing cleaning and vehicle preparation tasks. Work occurs indoors and outdoors and may expose the employee to temperature extremes and other weather fluctuations. A professional appearance and adherence to safety regulations are mandatory.
