Dealership Porter

Position Overview

The Dealership Porter plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment throughout the dealership's premises. Supporting both sales and service teams, this role involves moving vehicles safely, assisting customers, and upholding the professionalism and organization of customer areas and the vehicle lot.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for maneuvering and parking customer, inventory, and service vehicles carefully around the dealership.
• Ensure the vehicle lot remains tidy and well-organized at all times.
• Perform vehicle cleaning tasks including washing and vacuuming as assigned.
• Coordinate the delivery and retrieval of vehicles to and from service zones, fueling stations, car washes, or other specified locations.
• Support sales and service staff in preparing and moving vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the showroom, customer waiting areas, sidewalks, and parking lots.
• Inspect vehicles for any visible cleanliness or presentation issues; report concerns to management.
• Manage keys and vehicle locations in compliance with dealership protocols.
• Assist customers by helping them locate vehicles or directing them to proper departments.
• Remove trash and maintain cleanliness in designated work areas.
• Carry out routine errands and other duties as requested.
• Adhere strictly to all dealership safety guidelines and vehicle handling procedures.

Candidate Qualifications

• Must hold a valid driver's license with a reasonably clean driving record.
• Dependable transportation and consistent attendance are required.
• Capability to safely operate vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions if necessary.
• Preparedness to work outdoors under various weather conditions.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and undertake physically demanding tasks throughout shifts.
• Attention to detail and commitment to preserving a professional and clean appearance.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Prior experience in automotive dealerships or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.

Physical and Work Environment Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and moving vehicles or equipment required.
• Must perform routine cleaning and vehicle preparation safely and efficiently.
• Work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to diverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, and wetness.
