Data Scientist/AI Engineer (Python, Machine Learning, Retrieval-Augmented Generation)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist/AI Engineer to design and implement advanced AI and machine learning solutions leveraging NLP and large language model (LLM) technologies, focused especially on financial domain applications. The role involves building and enhancing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines that utilize structured and unstructured financial data sources.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI applications incorporating NLP and LLM tech for practical financial services use cases.
• Construct and optimize RAG pipelines managing diverse financial data.
• Create synchronous and asynchronous REST APIs for NLP models and chatbot functionalities using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
• Implement advanced prompting strategies to enhance LLM accuracy and result quality.
• Develop semantic and hybrid search solutions using Elasticsearch and vector databases like FAISS, Pinecone, or Weaviate.
• Execute NLP tasks such as named entity recognition (NER), text classification, intent detection, embeddings generation, and sentiment analysis.
• Continuously monitor, evaluate, and fine-tune LLM/SLM models to maintain and improve accuracy, relevance, and system latency using real-world datasets.
• Utilize LLMOps tools for model lifecycle management including monitoring, evaluation, and version control in production environments.
• Build, train, and assess deep learning architectures for NLP challenges including classification, NER, summarization, and embedding-related tasks.
• Develop classical machine learning models for structured data analysis and forecasting.
• Collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary teams to troubleshoot issues, propose solutions, and implement improvements.
• Identify and contribute to process and business improvement initiatives by engaging in solution design and deployment.
• Deliver individual contributions across multiple projects.
• Maintain a proactive, positive approach and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously.
• Integrate LLMs/SLMs for applications such as Q&A, summarization, semantic search, and document comprehension.

Candidate Eligibility

Applicants must have at least one year of professional experience in relevant fields.

Other Requirements

• Strong profile in Data Science, AI Engineering, or Generative AI Engineering.
• Hands-on experience (1+ years) in Data Science, AI/ML, Deep Learning, NLP, or Generative AI.
• Proficiency in Python programming, backend development, API design, and production support.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, or Scikit-learn.
• Expertise in NLP tasks including classification, sentiment analysis, NER, semantic search, embeddings, and document understanding.
• Practical knowledge of LLMs like GPT, LLaMA, Mistral, Phi, Claude, Gemini, or equivalents.
• Building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector search, semantic search, or knowledge-based AI applications.
• Advanced prompt engineering skills and experience with LangChain, LangGraph, AI Agents, Azure OpenAI, or similar tools.
• Experience developing REST APIs with FastAPI, Flask, or comparable Python frameworks.
• Applicants should be below 28 years of age.
• Minimum educational qualification is B.Tech or M.Tech from reputed Tier-1 institutions like IIT, NIT, BITS, IIIT, DTU, or NSUT.
• Experience or familiarity with production deployment and operational tools such as LLMOps/MLOps, Azure OpenAI, AKS, Kubernetes, Docker, or other cloud-native AI technologies.
• Working knowledge of databases and data platforms including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, or equivalents.
• Preference for candidates from AI-first startups, SaaS or product firms, fintech, or technology companies driven by data.

Additional Information

• Compensation consists of 75% fixed salary and 25% variable component.
• Position is full time based in Pune, Maharashtra, India.
• Work schedule includes five-day workweeks.
• A total of 15 openings are available.
• Immediate joining is preferred.
