Data Analyst - Procurement

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst specializing in procurement to join a Queensland public sector organization. The role supports procurement intelligence initiatives, reporting, and generates insightful data analysis to aid organizational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyse procurement, supplier, and organizational data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Create Power BI dashboards, reports, forecasts, and other business intelligence materials.
• Employ advanced Excel functions, data modelling, and database querying techniques for insightful analysis.
• Extract pertinent data to incorporate into comprehensive reports and management information.
• Assist with procurement planning, spending analysis, supplier performance assessments, and category management tasks.
• Define data and system requirements aligned with strategic and operational goals.
• Lead or participate in projects focused on procurement business intelligence and data management.
• Conduct analyses on benefits and recommend actionable, evidence-based solutions.
• Support development and management of SharePoint data and documents.
• Foster strong working relationships with business stakeholders and convey complex data insights in an accessible manner.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess proficient data analysis and reporting skills with hands-on experience in Power BI, Excel, databases, and data modelling. Prior exposure to procurement, commercial analytics, financial analysis, supplier management, or category management is highly valued. Strong stakeholder communication skills and the ability to present complex analytical outcomes to diverse audiences are essential.
