About the Role
In the position of Customs Clearance Operative, you will be responsible for preparing and managing all customs documentation necessary for both import and export shipments, ensuring every document meets compliance standards and is accurately completed.
Your duties will include overseeing compliance, correctly classifying goods, and determining origin for all shipments, in strict accordance with Irish, EU, and global customs regulations.
You will act as a key liaison to resolve any shipment holds or queries by collaborating with internal departments, clients, and customs brokerage partners.
Maintaining and producing precise customs reports and datasets will be essential to uphold data integrity within company management systems.
Required Skills and Experience
- Two to three years of demonstrated experience in freight forwarding or customs clearance roles.
- In-depth knowledge of customs procedures within Ireland, the EU, and internationally.
- Solid IT capabilities including expertise with customs data entry platforms such as Descartes and Thyme, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to handle extensive documentation efficiently.
