Role Overview

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician position is a hands-on technical role within a dynamic manufacturing environment. It provides exposure to advanced automated machinery and opportunities to enhance your engineering expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance to ensure reliable operation of production machinery.
• Investigate breakdowns, determine root causes, and execute effective corrective measures.
• Assist with the introduction, installation, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
• Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to address technical challenges and enhance equipment efficiency.
• Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives focused on boosting efficiency, reliability, and minimizing downtime.
• Manage spare parts inventory and maintain technical documentation and equipment maintenance records.

Qualification and Skills Required

• NFQ Level 6 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related technical fields. Candidates with relevant trade qualifications coupled with strong industrial experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Proficient mechanical and electromechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Practical experience operating industrial production or automated equipment.
• Sound knowledge of fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and problem-solving techniques.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on safety.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an engineering team.
• Willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with automation, robotics, or PLC-driven systems.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic systems.
• Understanding of electrical systems and controls.
• Experience with vision systems.
• Competence with workshop machinery and machining processes.
• Exposure to high-volume or regulated manufacturing settings.
• Skills in equipment installation, commissioning, or qualification.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range of €40,000 to €50,000 annually plus shift allowances, based on experience.
