Customer Delivery Driver - Redruth Extra

About the Role

As the face of Tesco on the road, Customer Delivery Drivers greet customers at their homes daily, delivering much more than just groceries. This position involves active, hands-on tasks and offers varied workdays with no two shifts alike. While you will spend most of your time working independently, there is constant backup and support from a team of managers and colleagues at base.

The pay starts at £14.18 per hour and increases to £15.45 for stores within the M25 area. Some locations may offer extra payments. A minimum guaranteed work time of 16 hours per week is provided, though roles as low as 12 hours weekly can be available.

Core Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and work environment to ensure customers receive their orders in perfect condition.
• Safely load the delivery van and perform all necessary checks to verify roadworthiness and reliability before journeys.
• Communicate courteously with customers about any order alterations, substitutions, or short-dated items, facilitating refunds where appropriate to ensure a smooth experience.
• Handle products carefully, treating every delivery with care to maintain quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver orders punctually within scheduled time slots, offering warm, genuine service that leaves customers feeling appreciated and well cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues to promote strong team morale and the highest level of customer service.
• Friendly and welcoming attitude toward customers and coworkers.
• Adaptability to swiftly respond to changing customer needs and workplace changes while on delivery routes and in the store.
• A valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for a minimum of 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
