About the Role
As a Customer Delivery Driver representing Tesco on the road, you will deliver groceries directly to customers' homes, combining driving duties with exceptional customer service. The position involves active, hands-on work with diverse daily tasks, working mostly independently with support available from managers and colleagues back at the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and work area to ensure all orders reach customers in excellent condition.
- Safely loading the van and performing all necessary checks to confirm it is roadworthy and dependable for deliveries.
- Communicating clearly and kindly with customers about any adjustments, substitutions, or short-dated products in their orders, including processing refunds when appropriate to ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Handling all products carefully, treating each order with the utmost care to uphold quality and customer trust.
- Delivering items within the allocated time windows, providing warm and friendly service at delivery points to make customers feel valued.
Candidate Requirements
- Ability to foster strong relationships with colleagues, contributing to a positive team atmosphere and outstanding customer service.
- A warm and approachable manner towards both customers and team members.
- Adaptability to quickly respond to changing customer needs and embrace workplace changes on the road and in-store.
- Possession of a valid full UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (manual or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.

- Guaranteed minimum of 16 working hours per week; availability for roles starting at 12 hours per week.
- Hourly pay beginning at £14.18, rising to £15.45 in stores located within the M25 area; additional payments possible at some locations.
