Job description
Role Overview
Join Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver, serving as a friendly face to customers by delivering groceries directly to their homes. This position involves more than just driving; it requires offering excellent customer service with a cheerful attitude. The job is physically active, diverse, and varies day-to-day. You'll operate largely independently on the road while having support from a manager and colleagues based at the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep your delivery van, trays, and work area tidy, clean, and well-organised to ensure customers receive products in perfect condition.
- Load the delivery vehicle safely and perform all necessary inspections to ensure it is safe and reliable for deliveries.
- Communicate clearly and kindly with customers regarding any changes to orders, substitutions, or short-dated items, offering refunds when appropriate to maintain a smooth experience.
- Handle all products carefully to preserve quality and customer confidence.
- Deliver orders punctually within allotted customer time slots, providing warm and natural service that makes customers feel valued.
Candidate Requirements
- Foster positive relationships with colleagues to develop strong team spirit and ensure excellent customer service.
- Exhibit a warm, welcoming demeanor towards both customers and team members.
- Adapt quickly to changes in customer needs and embrace a flexible approach on the road and within the store environment.
- Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
