About Metalex Cryogenics
Metalex Cryogenics specializes in supplying industrial refrigeration systems and turnkey project solutions catered primarily to the pharmaceutical, food processing, and coldchain sectors. They develop advanced compressors, pumps, valves, and customized cooling mechanisms engineered for global benchmarks in safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability. Their expertise encompasses the design, installation, and upkeep of large-scale refrigeration infrastructure, ensuring dependable temperature regulation for critical operations. Metalex integrates innovative engineering solutions with reliable vendor collaborations, streamlining both performance and energy consumption.
They invite professionals eager to work on state-of-the-art refrigeration ventures that influence industrial infrastructure's future, fostering a culture of innovation, precision, and impactful longevity.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage expert knowledge to design industrial compressor components such as gears, bushes, crankcases, crankshafts, pistons, impellers, and other mechanical parts using PTC Creo in both 2D and 3D formats.
- Create detailed, high-quality models for industrial products, including fixtures, patterns, and molds to support production.
- Ensure designs align with feasibility, manufacturability, performance, cost, quality, and safety criteria.
- Apply an in-depth understanding of materials—casting, forging, alloys—and their material properties (strength, hardness, etc.).
- Utilize ASME and TEMA standards along with proficiency in welding techniques and representations within Creo environment.
- Coordinate autonomously with production teams, suppliers, and clients to collect design requirements and resolve engineering challenges.
- Maintain and update product design documentation effectively within Windchill PLM system.
- Provide mentorship and training to Production Engineers on design concepts and engineering drawings interpretation.
- Identify and address assumptions and constraints during Creo model development.
- Support and improve the adoption and effectiveness of Creo engineering applications throughout the organization.
- Demonstrate advanced skills with specific Creo features like Family Tables, Skeleton Models, Interchange Assemblies, Flexible Components, and Mechanism Designs for moving assemblies.
- Develop complex aerodynamic and surface models for impellers and volutes using advanced surfacing tools such as ISDX, Boundary Blends, Sweeps, and Freestyle.
- Apply full ASME Y14.5 compliance for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing using Creo GD&T Advisor.
- Generate weld features, symbols, and representations directly within Creo.
- Design casting and forging models with considerations for shrinkage, draft angles, parting lines, and machining allowances.
- Create fixtures, jigs, and patterns utilizing User Defined Features, Mapkeys for automation, and model tree organization methods.
- Conduct interference checks, mass property analyses, and tolerance stackups inside Creo.
- Expertly manage Windchill functionalities including check-in/out, versioning, change management workflows, BOM management, and CAD file control.
- Design with manufacturing constraints in mind such as machining, forging flow, and gating processes.
- Prepare comprehensive manufacturing drawings featuring sectional, auxiliary, broken views, surface finishes, heat treatment notes, and material specifications.
- Use Creo ModelCHECK for validation of model integrity.
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with Creo Simulate for stress, modal, and fatigue analyses.
- Capable of creating exploded views and animation sequences for assembly instructions.
- Knowledge of Creo Model-Based Definition (MBD).
Candidate Profile
- Minimum four years' direct experience in mechanical design using PTC Creo software.
- Proven background designing components for industrial machinery such as compressors, pumps, or equivalent rotating equipment.
- Ability to independently manage intricate modeling, assemblies, detailed drawings, and prepare manufacturing-ready documents.
- Solid grasp of materials engineering, industrial standards, and product design principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and capability to collaborate with multiple functional teams.
- This role requires candidates with hands-on proficiency specifically in PTC Creo and Windchill; entry-level or trainee applicants will not be considered.
Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
