Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Calibration Engineer to join our Khobar, Saudi Arabia team. This role involves coordinating construction testing activities alongside technicians and clients, ensuring site labs are fully equipped and calibrated per specifications, and issuing detailed testing reports. Leadership is key, with duties to guide and motivate the team for optimal performance under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Implement and uphold company policies, objectives, and procedures, aiding in their refinement as necessary.
• Manage operational plans, policies, and the transition or migration processes effectively.
• Assist the calibration technical head with resource management, budgeting, and cost control.
• Track and manage resources and expenditures in daily tasks.
• Maintain impartiality and avoid conflicts of interest, ensuring objective and precise calibration assessments.
• Safeguard confidentiality of data and calibration outcomes with secure storage and handling.
• Address customer inquiries regarding calibration progress and reporting.
• Prepare, review, and submit calibration reports for approval by the calibration head.
• Analyze data to identify non-conformance and implement corrective measures.
• Organize calibration schedules and oversee supervisors and technicians.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers and calibration agencies on purchases, calibration, and equipment rental.
• Review master equipment certifications, calibration agency CMCs, and supplier proposals per relevant standards.
• Prepare bids and quotations for calibration, maintenance, and inspection projects.
• Execute calibration, verification, and special inspection reports; communicate findings to relevant stakeholders including clients and contractors.
• Ensure adherence to applicable standard test methods and customer requirements during testing.
• Conduct post-test data analyses to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
• Facilitate resources and programs to guarantee site and lab equipment suitability and calibration maintenance.
• Investigate and resolve current and potential non-conformities by implementing effective corrective/preventive actions.
• Review work orders for clarity and completeness.
• Manage proper storage and environmental conditions for equipment and received items.
• Supervise laboratory supervisors and data entry personnel.
• Approve certificates, technical proposals, and specialized reports in coordination with calibration leadership.
• Provide technical training and introduce new calibration-related technologies to technicians.

Reporting Structure

Reports directly to the Calibration Technical Section Head with direct reports including the Calibration Lab Supervisor, Technicians, and Data Entry staff.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering physics or a relevant scientific discipline.
• Four to six years of experience in calibration and instrument engineering.
• Strong familiarity with calibration work instructions, standards, and test specifications.
• Comprehensive understanding of measurement instruments and their calibration/maintenance.
• Knowledge of metrology, SI principles, measurement uncertainty, and precision methodologies.
• Proficiency in operation and use of testing equipment and related software.
• Capability in mathematical calculations, statistics, and data analysis.
• Basic technical and laboratory competencies.
• Awareness of occupational safety standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
