Job description
Role Summary
Operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages efficiently and courteously while ensuring compliance with specified FedEx service standards. Provide customer service pertaining to shipment verification and manage pick-up and drop-off duties safely under regulatory guidelines excluding vehicles governed by section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Educational and Experience Requirements
Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED certificate. Previous experience is not required.
Skills and Abilities
- Capability to lift packages weighing up to 50 pounds manually.
- Skill in handling heavier packages utilizing proper equipment or with assistance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers and traffic officials.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Proficiency in reading and speaking English to comprehend traffic signs and respond appropriately to official inquiries.
- Valid driver's license appropriate for the assigned vehicle type.
Working Conditions
- This is a non-covered safety-sensitive role requiring a neat appearance due to regular customer interaction.
- Ability to maintain constant alertness and adhere to safe driving practices during work.
Compensation and Additional Information
The pay range for this position is $25.26 to $37.52 per hour, depending on job-related factors such as experience and location. This position typically begins in the morning hours.
