Job description
Role Overview
This role involves operating company vehicles to ensure the timely and courteous delivery and pickup of packages. The Courier/DOT-9 driver is responsible for verifying shipments meet company service standards and providing excellent customer service. Additional duties may be assigned as required.
Education and Licensing
Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED. A valid license appropriate for the assigned vehicle type is mandatory.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Competence to handle packages exceeding 50 pounds using proper equipment or assistance.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and neat appearance due to interaction with customers.
- Must comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations section 391 and undergo required medical examinations under FMCSA or FAA rules.
- Maintain constant alertness and practice safe working methods.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Proficiency in reading and speaking English to comprehend traffic signs and effectively communicate with officials as per FMCSA enforcement guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
Starting hourly pay is $21.05. This is a full-time position with working hours Monday through Friday, afternoons/evenings. The hiring manager is Chris Pierson.
