Job Overview
This role involves operating company vehicles to efficiently manage the delivery and pick-up of packages. The individual must ensure that shipments comply with FedEx service standards and also carry out customer service tasks related to deliveries.
Key Duties
- Operate company vehicles for package delivery and collection.
- Verify shipment compliance with FedEx features of service.
- Perform assigned duties as needed.
Minimum Education and Licensing
Applicants should have at least a high school diploma or GED. Holding a valid license for the assigned vehicle type is mandatory.
Qualifications and Abilities
- Capability to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs., and manage heavier loads with equipment or assistance.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Professional appearance necessary due to customer interaction.
- Compliance with Section 391 of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Pass required medical examinations as outlined by FMCSA or FAA standards; position is safety-sensitive but non-covered.
- Maintain constant alertness and safe work habits.
- Minimum age requirement is 21 years.
- Proficient English reading and speaking skills to understand traffic signs and communicate effectively with traffic officials.
Preferred Experience and Salary
Starting pay is $22.11 per hour. The pay range depends on various factors including experience, tenure, and job performance. The location and relevant labor regulations may affect compensation.
