Overview

Palomba General Trading LLC, located in Dubai, is recruiting a Cosmetic Process & Emulsion Applications Engineer to manage intricate cosmetic and personal-care process equipment projects throughout the UAE and GCC region. This full-time onsite role commands a highly technical understanding of cosmetic processing and is not focused on sales or business development.

Role Details

The successful candidate will specialize in industrial processing techniques for emulsions, creams, gels, lotions, serums, shampoos, conditioners, and similar cosmetic formulations. Responsibilities include working closely with cosmetic manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and application specialists to analyze formulations, support trials, and optimize scaling processes from laboratory or pilot stages to large-scale industrial production.

Key Technical Responsibilities

• Assess manufacturing requirements for cosmetics and personal-care products.
• Evaluate formulations like emulsions, gels, and viscous products.
• Provide technical support for selecting and configuring high-shear mixers, homogenizers, vacuum mixers, and process vessels.
• Analyze formulation traits including viscosity, density, and temperature sensitivity.
• Support emulsification processes between oil and aqueous phases.
• Manage powder incorporation, wetting, dispersion, and deagglomeration.
• Optimize mixing parameters including speed, shear, time, and batch volume.
• Oversee vacuum deaeration and air removal.
• Manage heating and cooling processes during manufacturing.
• Coordinate scale-up from small batches to full industrial production.
• Lead pilot trials, customer demos, and testing of process equipment.
• Handle cleaning, changeover, hygienic design, and compliance requirements.
• Facilitate technical discussions and prepare documentation such as specifications and process data sheets.
• Participate in factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, and commissioning.
• Assist in troubleshooting issues like instability, incomplete dispersion, or inconsistent viscosity.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Food Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial application, process development, or cosmetic manufacturing preferred.
• Practical skills with cosmetic emulsions, high-shear mixing, homogenization, and handling viscous products.
• Strong grasp of rheology and emulsion processing principles.
• Experience with industrial processing equipment and ability to interpret technical data.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers an indicative salary from AED 15,000 to 23,000 monthly, dependent on experience and qualifications. Performance bonuses may be applicable based on project results.
