Key Responsibilities
- Manage all contractual aspects for large-scale building and township infrastructure initiatives, from proposal through contract closure and auditing.
- Monitor and assure compliance with contractual terms, evaluating project progress against requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate contract documentation for building projects.
- Analyze and process claims, contract variations, and extensions of time (EOT) according to contract specifications.
- Prepare and submit variation orders and claims to clients or stakeholders effectively.
- Resolve disputes and negotiate claims and variations to protect organizational interests.
- Identify contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies tailored to building projects.
- Offer specialized contract advice to project teams, focusing on risk and opportunity management.
- Ensure adherence to FIDIC and government contract standards relevant to building projects.
- Interpret contractual provisions to safeguard the organization's rights and obligations.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, legal departments, and clients to facilitate smooth contract execution.
- Serve as the main contact point for contractual matters within building projects.
- Generate detailed performance and claims reports, analyzing data to suggest improvements.
- Support internal departments in contract development aligning with company policies.
- Examine project estimates and delivery timelines; prepare bids, test, progress reports, and other necessary documentation.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in contract administration within contractor or consultant firms managing building projects.
- Strong proficiency in handling contract claims, variations, and EOT assessments specifically for building construction projects.
- Experience supervising a team of contract administrators.
- Knowledgeable in construction codes, industry standards, and regulations.
