Construction Manager - Power & Digital EPC Projects

Role Overview

The Construction Manager for EPC Power & Digital projects will oversee all on-site construction operations encompassing power systems, electrical installations, telecommunications, ICT, ELV, smart infrastructure, and digital transformation initiatives. The incumbent ensures projects are executed successfully within established timelines, budgets, quality benchmarks, safety protocols, and contract terms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct all construction activities specific to EPC Power & Digital ventures.
• Guarantee alignment of project execution with approved engineering designs, specs, and defined requirements.
• Manage on-site personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and necessary construction resources effectively.
• Track site productivity and introduce corrective measures to uphold schedules.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Quality Assurance/Control, and Health, Safety & Environment teams.
• Formulate and implement construction strategies, plans, and methodologies.
• Review and sanction construction timelines, manpower allocation, and equipment utilization.
• Identify and mitigate risks potentially impacting project delivery.
• Assure compliance with project specs, industry standards, local regulations, and contractual obligations through inspections and audits.
• Oversee safety culture and conformity with company and statutory HSE requirements via audits, safety talks, and incident investigations.
• Serve as the main construction liaison for clients, consultants, and subcontractors, providing progress reports and resolving technical issues.
• Support contract administration and claims handling processes.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and ensure smooth project handover including punch list reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related disciplines.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is desirable.
• HSE certifications such as OSHA or NEBOSH add advantage.
• At least 15 years in EPC construction projects.
• Minimum 8 years as Construction Manager handling large-scale Power & Digital infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in power generation & distribution, high/medium voltage substations, ICT & telecommunications infrastructure, fiber optics, ELV & security systems, data centers, and smart city/digital infrastructure projects.
• Preferably experienced in GCC or wider Middle East projects.

Technical Skills

• Sound understanding of EPC project execution methodologies.
• High proficiency in power infrastructure, telecom, ICT, and digital technologies.
• Experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, and related construction management software.
• Knowledgeable about QA/QC and HSE standards and processes.
• Familiarity with international standards like IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and applicable local codes.
