Role Overview
We are seeking a Conflicts Analyst based in Singapore to join our Global Business Acceptance Team. Reporting to the Conflicts Manager, the analyst will play a critical role in onboarding new legal business and ensuring that no work accepted poses reputational, ethical, or legal risks to the firm.
Primary Duties
- Verify and scrutinize the information related to new work by communicating with fee earners for clarification or additional data as needed.
- Conduct and review database searches, ensuring completeness and high accuracy.
- Analyze complex search outcomes from internal conflict management systems and other sources to determine possible conflicts of interest.
- Collaborate with fee earners across all practice areas to detect and highlight potential conflicts related to new clients and matters.
- Refer complex or ambiguous conflict situations to the Conflicts Manager for further evaluation.
- Perform supplementary research using internal and external resources to support conflict assessments.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining information barriers.
- Maintain and develop knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and commercial requirements pertaining to business acceptance processes.
- Contribute to educating the firm on conflicts policies and procedures to raise awareness.
- Support any ad hoc projects related to new business acceptance and conflicts management.
Candidate Profile
- While a degree is advantageous, it is not mandatory.
- Experience within legal or professional services is preferred but not required.
- Self-driven, adaptable, flexible, and patient.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen interest in understanding the business and applying lateral thinking.
- Excellent research capabilities and ability to take initiative with a proactive approach.
- Effective multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational aptitude and the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Trustworthy with the discretion to manage confidential information sensitively.
- Quick to learn new processes and technology applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with colleagues at all levels.
