Role Summary

Reporting to the Regional Head of Business Development, this position acts as a trusted advisor for practice groups. The role involves shaping and implementing practice group strategies, operational support for business development, and driving growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with practice leaders and regional BD head to set, execute, and measure growth strategies aligned with practice goals.
  • Develop actionable, data-driven plans and budgets; establish measurable KPIs and manage annual planning cycles.
  • Monitor and report business development activities demonstrating returns on investment.
  • Utilize internal BD and marketing systems for planning, targeting, and evaluation.
  • Work with marketing teams globally and regionally to produce engaging marketing content and campaigns.
  • Identify and manage strategic sponsorships and speaking engagements for assigned practices.
  • Manage submissions for legal directories and assist partners in preparing for related interviews.
  • Lead and support business development efforts by partnering with senior stakeholders targeting client acquisition and retention.
  • Support business development trips by defining objectives, briefing teams, and ensuring post-visit CRM follow-up.
  • Oversee client and intermediary relationship programs, including feedback monitoring and lead tracking.
  • Prepare tailored credentials, proposals, pitches, and RFP responses with strategic alignment.
  • Maintain CRM data, including client/target lists, sales pipeline, and reporting.
  • Analyze market, client, and competitor dynamics to advise lawyers on trends and opportunities, considering regulatory conditions.
  • Drive the expansion of the client base, including upselling and cross-selling across the wider group.
  • Manage multi-workstream BD projects ensuring cross-functional collaboration and timely delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Take charge of personal growth via collaborative projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Support ad hoc strategic projects benefiting the function and broader firm beyond routine responsibilities.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in law firms and professional qualifications in Marketing, Business, or related disciplines.
  • At least eight years of experience in business development or marketing within professional services, understanding finance/legal sectors, B2B tactics, and excellent project management.
  • Strong familiarity with the Irish legal and commercial market, sector trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Proven capability managing senior stakeholders in professional service environments.
  • Proficiency with InterAction or equivalent CRM platforms and expertise in leveraging data value.
  • Effective team collaborator able to engage with local and global marketing teams.
  • Outstanding verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and administrative abilities.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a hands-on approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to meet internal stakeholder needs promptly.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, exercising calm, logical, and creative problem solving under pressure.
  • Service-focused attitude, responding promptly, setting expectations, asking insightful questions, and owning issues through to resolution.
  • Deep knowledge of firm structures, marketing technologies, and subject-matter expertise in assigned practices to produce high-quality BD initiatives aligned with client demands.
