Job description
About the Role
Fisher & Paykel Appliances, a globally recognized New Zealand brand, aims to be the leading human-centred premium appliance company. Operating from its Global Headquarters in Penrose and key sites in East Tāmaki and Grey Lynn, the company is innovating the future of premium appliances through design, market insight, and commercial expertise.
Opportunity Overview
We seek a commercially insightful Commercial Product Manager who approaches product management with a fresh mindset. This position is about challenging traditions and contributing new ideas to strengthen our product strategies, not just maintaining the current status quo.
Ideal candidates might come from industries such as FMCG, consumer electronics, retail, automotive, or beverages, where pricing, promotions, and profitability shape daily decisions. Understanding how to balance customer demands with commercial objectives is essential, as is the ability to convert insights into effective initiatives.
The role involves managing product strategy across the New Zealand market, from launching new products to phasing out older ones. Close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Global Product teams ensures portfolio optimization, pricing strategy development, and identification of growth opportunities.
We value natural curiosity, strong commercial acumen, and the confidence to respectfully challenge established views.
Candidate Profile
You are likely experienced in Product Management, Category Management, or a related commercial function within FMCG or similar consumer-focused sectors. Proficiency in analyzing pricing, profitability, and product portfolio performance is key. You thrive in teamwork-oriented environments and prefer influencing decisions through evidence and insight rather than authority.
Ambition is critical as this role is part of our leadership development pipeline, providing a pathway to future commercial leadership within the organisation.
Why Join Fisher & Paykel?
Becoming part of a growing global firm headquartered in New Zealand means you will work with exceptionally talented colleagues addressing complex commercial challenges. Employees benefit from flexible working arrangements, attractive product discounts, comprehensive medical, life and disability insurance, superannuation contributions, leading family leave policies, subsidised café access, complimentary on-site parking, and real career advancement prospects.
Equal Opportunity
Fisher & Paykel Appliances is committed to equal employment opportunities and makes hiring decisions without discrimination based on race, colour, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, or any other protected status.
