About the Role
Our client, a well-established international trading company, is looking for an experienced Coal Trader to support commercial trading activities within regional and global bulk commodities markets. The role focuses on sourcing, trading, market evaluation, and fostering relationships with suppliers and customers in the thermal coal sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and interpret market trends, supply-demand fluctuations, and price dynamics in thermal coal and bulk commodities to guide trading and commercial strategies.
- Procure thermal coal from international sources, cultivating dependable long-term supplier relationships.
- Assess supply channels, including production factors and supply chain logistics, to enhance procurement approaches.
- Manage execution of purchase and sales agreements, ensuring adherence to contract terms and smooth transaction flow.
- Develop and implement sales and trading tactics tailored to regional markets and aligned with business goals.
- Establish and sustain strong networks with suppliers, customers, and trading partners worldwide.
- Identify and mitigate market, credit, and transactional risks through effective strategies.
- Oversee logistics, shipping operations, and delivery planning to optimize supply chain efficiency and costs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in trading, operations, shipping, and finance to guarantee seamless trade execution.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
- At least five years of experience trading coal, energy, or bulk commodities with international exposure.
- Proven skills in market analysis, negotiation, and managing contracts.
- Excellent communication abilities and stakeholder management skills to operate effectively across diverse cultures and regions.
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite.
- Highly self-driven, capable of independent work in a high-speed trading environment.
- Availability for occasional international travel.
