Job Overview
The Storekeeper holds responsibility for the reception, storage, issuing, and continuous monitoring of materials, ensuring comprehensive and accurate inventory records. This role ensures the proper documentation, safe handling, and systematic storage of materials to maintain operational efficiency and organization within the store.
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive materials, validating quantities, quality, and verifying supporting paperwork against purchase orders or delivery notes.
- Label and systematically store items in designated areas to facilitate easy access and identification.
- Issue materials strictly based on approved requests, while maintaining precise documentation of all transactions.
- Log all material movements including receipts, issues, transfers, and returns into the ERP system and associated records.
- Observe and report inventory levels, noting shortages, damages, surpluses, or discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
- Carry out scheduled physical stock inventories and perform reconciliations between physical counts and system data.
- Manage material transfers and returns, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and accurate.
- Collaborate with other departments, suppliers, and store locations to coordinate material movements effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the store environment, adhering to fire, housekeeping, occupational, and material-handling safety protocols.
Performance Metrics
- Accuracy of inventory stock records.
- Timeliness in receiving and issuing materials.
- Correctness of ERP system entries and supporting documentation.
- Prompt completion and submission of physical stock audits.
- Proper execution of material transfers and returns.
- Cleanliness and compliance with safety standards in the store.
Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary school certificate, diploma, or a bachelor’s degree in any field.
- Between two and three years of relevant experience in Facilities Management stores or warehouse operations.
- Understanding of inventory control procedures, stock taking, and material handling processes.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong skills in record keeping, documentation, and numerical accuracy.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of material safety and warehouse safety procedures.
- Capable of performing physical storework and maintaining accuracy under pressure.
