Job Overview
The Senior Manager for Category Analysis will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance within warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring product safety, integrity, and compliance. This senior role demands leadership in formulating analytical frameworks and strategies that align with Basamh Group’s long-term vision for foodservice and channel priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of category analytics frameworks and develop portfolio strategies that resonate with the company’s extended foodservice goals and prioritized channels.
- Uncover new category possibilities, identify white spaces, and spearhead portfolio growth initiatives specifically across HORECA channels.
- Design and refine category structures, assortment strategies, and product hierarchies to enhance relevance to channels and clarify the portfolio.
- Conduce detailed analysis of category performance, market trends, consumer behavior, and operational data to guide strategic decisions.
- Work collaboratively with supply chain, procurement, finance, marketing, and operations teams to ensure category strategies are actionable and scalable.
- Maintain ongoing alignment of the current product range with the comprehensive strategic portfolio framework.
- Develop and implement category planning instruments, assortment methodologies, and governance models to uphold consistency and decision-making quality.
- Provide strategic portfolio advice, optimize product mix, and guide category positioning for channel and commercial teams.
- Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and insightful strategic communications for senior management and leadership.
- Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) focusing on assortment efficiency, channel alignment, portfolio productivity, and sustained category growth.
- Collaborate on the formulation and execution of Division objectives (ABCs and OKRs), ensuring coordination with leadership across other functions.
- Exercise authority in critical decision-making aligning with the Division’s strategic and tactical plans.
- Create function and team plans that support the Division’s broader objectives and goals.
- Delegate tactical responsibilities to emerging leaders to support succession planning efforts in the Division.
- Track OKRs and necessary metrics continuously, implementing corrective measures when required.
- Set clear performance goals, assist direct reports with needed resources, and conduct periodic evaluations and feedback for ongoing team development.
- Participate actively in recruiting key talent within the function.
- Provide clear leadership direction, prioritize workload, delegate tasks, and oversee workflow management.
- Encourage team involvement in initiatives fostering improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
- Manage the departmental budgeting cycle proactively, ensuring efficient use of resources and accurate progress reporting.
- Develop financial and operational strategies to maximize positive impact while mitigating associated risks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Between six and eight years of pertinent professional experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is mandatory.
