Cluster Kitchen and Laundry Technician

Job Summary

Join Four Points by Sheraton located on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, as a Cluster Kitchen and Laundry Technician responsible for addressing guest maintenance requests effectively. This role involves performing routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of kitchen equipment and mechanical systems to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests promptly and communicate effectively with guests to resolve issues.
• Conduct preventive upkeep on tools and kitchen/mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication tasks.
• Visually inspect a range of tools, machines, and equipment, and manage inventory requisitions appropriately.
• Operate and identify shut-off valves for equipment and building utilities when necessary.
• Maintain thorough communication about daily activities and challenges with incoming shifts through approved channels.
• Demonstrate or develop knowledge in multiple technical areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and energy conservation.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repairs, as well as replace light bulbs and A/C filters, ensuring a clean work area.
• Troubleshoot and fix equipment and components, including plumbing clogs, electrical lamps, switches, outlets, vacuum cleaners, and internet devices.
• Program televisions, manage housekeeping and engineering inventories, and execute lockout/tagout safety procedures prior to maintenance.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.
• Use basic computer skills for tasks such as inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
• Follow all company safety protocols, report hazards or accidents, complete required safety training, and properly handle flammable materials.
• Maintain a professional appearance and behavior, protect company assets, and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Provide courteous guest service, including assisting guests with disabilities and adhering to quality standards.
• Develop positive interpersonal relationships with team members and communicate clearly and professionally.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds independently and assist with heavier loads; navigate stairs, ramps, ladders, and perform various physical motions.
• Fulfill other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting is advantageous; prior hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• Licensing: A valid driver's license is required.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: This is a non-management position without supervisory duties.
