Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled individual to join the Operations team at a leading insurance brokerage in Dunedin, New Zealand. This hybrid position requires working from the office at least three days weekly. You will support client-facing Brokers through administrative and technical assistance, ensuring accurate, swift, and efficient handling of policy documents and associated paperwork. This role provides a valuable foundation for developing insurance expertise and progressing towards a broking career.
Key Duties
- Produce and process policies and related documentation correctly and punctually, including closing documents for relevant parties.
- Ensure invoicing, quotations, calculations, and confidential documents are generated timely and precisely within service-level agreements and quality standards.
- Prepare accurate reports within designated deadlines.
- Manage workload effectively, prioritize tasks, handle complex transactions, and resolve escalations within agreed timelines.
- Maintain a fundamental understanding of insurance principles and applicable legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to operational process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in any discipline.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong numerical aptitude and accuracy in working with calculations and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—Outlook, Word, Excel, or their equivalents.
Preferred Attributes
- One to two years of administration experience is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize and manage competing demands to meet deadlines.
