Global Cyber Data Lead

Position Overview

We are looking for an accomplished Data Practitioner to lead our Cyber Data Engineering team at Marsh in Dublin, Ireland. This hybrid role requires a minimum presence of three days per week at our office. The successful candidate will guide our cyber data environment, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to ensure project delivery aligns with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Leverage extensive data expertise to quickly assimilate and develop a strategic plan for delivering impactful data solutions on Marsh's common infrastructure, with a focus on Databricks.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable data frameworks supporting layered data architectures.
• Provide mentorship to the data engineering team to cultivate technical excellence, teamwork, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Work collaboratively with business units to promptly create data solutions responsive to changing needs.
• Partner with central platform teams to enhance data operations through new feature implementations ensuring efficiency and reliability.
• Champion DevOps and DataOps best practices, including Git version control, pipeline deployments, and continuous integration/continuous delivery workflows.
• Keep current with emerging technologies and industry trends to advance data engineering standards and practices.

Required Qualifications

• At least 10 years of leadership experience in data roles.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, including scripting and automation capabilities.
• Substantial hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, and major cloud providers including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proven knowledge of Git, CI/CD systems, and DevOps/DataOps methodologies.
• Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
• Ability to proactively resolve complex data challenges and issues.

Work Arrangement
