Overview

Join the Facilities department at GBS in Manchester as a Cleaner and contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment that fosters education and growth. This permanent full-time role involves sustaining high cleanliness standards across various campus areas to support students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure comprehensive cleaning of the campus including classrooms, offices, libraries, common areas, cafeteria, restrooms, and exterior grounds.
• Perform daily floor maintenance such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and polishing to keep all floor surfaces spotless and free of dust and stains.
• Sanitize surfaces and furniture, including desks, tables, chairs, and window sills, focusing on hygiene and high-contact areas.
• Prepare classrooms by cleaning desks, whiteboards, floors, and arranging furniture appropriately.
• Manage and monitor cleaning supplies inventory, ensuring adequate stock and reporting shortages to the Facility Manager.

Experience and Skills

• Proven experience in commercial cleaning roles.
• Practical use of professional cleaning chemicals and equipment on diverse surfaces.
• Customer service experience within a work environment.
• Effective communication abilities and a proactive, flexible work ethic.
• Understanding of Health & Safety regulations related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to work independently to fulfill job responsibilities.
