About the Role
Join GBS facilities team at our East London Stratford campus as a Cleaner and play a vital part in maintaining a spotless, safe, and welcoming environment for all students, staff, and visitors. This permanent, full-time position supports our vision of changing lives through education by ensuring our campus is hygienic and conducive to learning.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cleaning of all campus areas including classrooms, offices, libraries, common spaces, cafeteria, restrooms, and outdoor grounds to uphold high cleanliness standards.
- Maintain floor surfaces by daily vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and occasionally polishing to eliminate dust, dirt, and stains.
- Clean and disinfect all surfaces such as desks, tables, chairs, and windowsills, focusing on high-contact points to maintain hygiene.
- Prepare classrooms by wiping desks, cleaning whiteboards, vacuuming or sweeping floors, and arranging furniture appropriately.
- Manage cleaning supplies by tracking stock levels, reordering as needed, and reporting shortages to the Facility Manager.
Required Skills and Experience
- Prior cleaning experience in a commercial setting.
- Practical expertise using professional cleaning chemicals and tools suited for various surfaces.
- Experience in customer-focused environments ensuring professionalism.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Flexible, proactive approach with a positive "can-do" attitude.
- Understanding of Health & Safety regulations concerning cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to work independently and meet role requirements without constant supervision.

- Salary: £27,500 per year.
- 25 days of annual leave plus 8 public holidays with an additional day per year of service, up to 5 days maximum.
