Role Overview

In the capacity of Chief Supply Chain Officer for Jumia Ghana, you will architect, expand, and lead the company’s supply chain operations by delivering both strategic insight and hands-on leadership. You will be tasked with building a skilled, motivated, and high-achieving supply chain team to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain standardized, superior fulfillment and supply chain processes across the nation.
• Recruit, develop, and scale effective fulfillment and logistics teams aligned to business growth objectives.
• Manage local fleet operations and third-party logistics partnerships, steering vendor negotiations to optimize expenditure.
• Take ownership of business results by monitoring and analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly operational KPIs.
• Guarantee smooth order fulfillment while adapting agile processes to quickly address operational challenges.
• Prepare detailed executive reports on operational performance, targets, and deviations.
• Oversee departmental budgets ensuring timely and accurate financial closure for monthly, quarterly, and annual periods.
• Foster a culture of continuous process innovation and cultivate a motivating work environment focused on staff advancement and engagement.
• Lead comprehensive project management efforts for new operational initiatives and special strategic projects.

Candidate Profile

• Self-motivated strategic leader with strong entrepreneurial resolve, outstanding leadership skills, and independent execution capability.
• Excellent written and verbal communicator comfortable operating in culturally diverse settings.
• Experienced problem solver and negotiator skilled in crisis management, cross-functional collaboration, resource allocation, and vendor negotiations.
• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline; relevant professional certifications are advantageous.
• Advanced data analytics proficiency including extensive use of Excel formulas, macros, pivot tables, and workbook preparation, with demonstrated ability to derive actionable insights from data.
• Proven commercial experience in e-commerce, FMCG, or fast-paced multinational logistics environments.
• In-depth knowledge of e-commerce supply chain best practices, digital supply chain technologies, and evolving customer and supplier behavior.
