CCR Operator - I

Role Overview

The CCR Operator is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations and parameters of power and water units from the plant's control room. The goal is to sustain steady operations and fulfill production targets in line with company instructions, quality benchmarks, and health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate designated plant units via control panels following prescribed guidelines, adjusting operating parameters and product flows, and promptly resolving any equipment abnormalities or malfunctions.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of plant design, processes, advanced system technologies, and operating procedures across multiple assets to ensure smooth daily operations under quality and HSE expectations.
• Maintain constant communication with field personnel by radio to report current conditions and coordinate actions to maintain operations within acceptable limits.
• Keep up-to-date records and logs in the control room and perform clear shift handovers to guarantee smooth transitions.
• Act on work instructions from Shift Supervisors or Engineers by monitoring systems for anomalies and executing remedial steps per protocols.
• Perform initial diagnosis on equipment faults, correct issues when possible, or escalate work requests for repairs and track timely problem resolution.
• Ensure procedures for Lock Out & Tag Out are strictly followed during equipment isolation for maintenance and restore equipment correctly afterward as per Permit to Work protocols.
• Provide hands-on training and knowledge transfer to junior staff members to support quality standards within the team.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

• Strictly comply with all health, safety, security, and environment directives to protect personnel and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Regularly monitor environmental compliance parameters and promptly report deviations to supervisors for corrective measures.

Organizational Policies & Continuous Improvement

• Follow all organizational policies, departmental processes, and standard operating procedures to maintain consistent quality of work.
• Participate in identifying and implementing process improvements and change initiatives aligned with organizational standards.

Collaboration

• Engage closely with Shift Engineers, Supervisors, local operators, chemists, and technicians to ensure coordinated plant functioning.

• Undertake any additional duties as assigned by line management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Technical Diploma in Engineering.
• Have 3 to 5 years of experience working in control room operations within power generation and water desalination plants.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficient with plant equipment and control room operational systems.
• Strong understanding of HSE and quality management standards.
• Knowledgeable about various plant processes and machinery.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Familiarity with downtime analysis and problem-solving techniques.
• Well-versed in operational aspects of power and water desalination facilities.
• Capable of mentoring, coaching, and managing people.
• Effective skills in planning, organizing, and integrating tasks.
• Strong team player with excellent collaboration abilities.
