Role Overview
Cashiers serve a vital customer service function by delivering quick, friendly, precise, and secure service to shoppers. Their duties include handling Checkout and Return transactions, overseeing the Self-Checkout zones, and actively gaining product and project knowledge to offer customers helpful information and identify sales opportunities. They strictly adhere to company policies and procedures to minimize inventory shrinkage.
Head Cashier Responsibilities
A Head Cashier takes the lead by managing Cashier positioning and supporting them with rapid price checks, authorizing Point of Sale transactions, and approving markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. They serve as the first point of escalation for customer complaints and contribute to supervising, coaching, and training fellow Front End Associates. This includes training new Cashiers and utilizing available resources to develop their skills.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for a Head Cashier role typically has over one year of Cashier experience.
