Car Detailer

Position Overview

Carvana, recognized as the fastest-growing used car retailer in U.S. history and among the top four quickest entries to the Fortune 500, is hiring entry-level Lot Attendants. This role is centered around preserving the cleanliness and appearance of vehicles at our Market Hubs. You will collaborate with colleagues to ensure prompt vehicle deliveries and maintain exceptional customer satisfaction.

Job Details and Compensation

• Full-time employment status
• Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays, including your birthday as a holiday

Our compensation starts at $15 per hour, with substantial opportunities for merit-based wage increases up to $16 per hour within the first year. These increments happen every 90 days through our Careers Not Jobs program, offering up to four raises annually based on performance:

• Starting wage: $15/hr
• 3 months: $15.25/hr
• 6 months: $15.50/hr
• 9 months: $15.75/hr
• 12 months: $16/hr

Core Responsibilities

• Inspect each vehicle for mechanical issues, drivability, and cosmetic concerns
• Perform regular washing and vacuuming of inventory vehicles
• Conduct thorough multi-point inspections upon inventory arrival, checking fuel level, safety features, drivability, and ensuring proper display of company and state disclosures
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with coworkers and external vendors
• Communicate effectively with team members and management across all departments
• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance

Qualifications and Physical Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum age of 18 years with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record over the past 3 years
• Capable of independently lifting up to 60 pounds, primarily from knee to shoulder height, and carrying weights up to 20 feet
• Able to stand for prolonged periods and perform stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling in various environmental conditions including exposure to cold, heat, noise, moisture, fumes, or odors associated with vehicle maintenance
• Prepared to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions
• Requires excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Use of personal protective equipment such as face shields, goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, masks, and other required safety gear
• Frequent driving responsibilities and occasional typing tasks
• Commitment to dependable attendance is essential
