Position Overview
This role involves operating company vehicles to efficiently handle delivery and pickup services across a minimum of 15 different routes, working in a flexible floating capacity rather than being assigned to a fixed route.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive company vehicles to facilitate timely delivery and collection of packages.
- Provide coverage on various routes when regular couriers are unavailable, acting in a floating courier role.
- Exemplify leadership and mentor hourly employees by demonstrating strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills utilizing Best Practices methodologies.
- Encourage continued sales efforts and seek opportunities to generate additional revenue where possible.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Minimum of six months of courier experience to adequately adapt and learn the job.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Physical capability to lift loads up to 70 lbs and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs using suitable equipment.
- Ability to complete all mandatory training including basic, recurrency, and maintain Dangerous Goods (DG) certification, along with annual recertification.
- Knowledge of FedEx products, services, and general operations is essential.
- Familiarity with Federal Express operations and Canadian Customs regulations is considered an advantage.
- In Quebec province, bilingual proficiency in French and English is required.

Additional Information
- This is a Permanent Full-Time position requiring availability Monday through Saturday with some schedule flexibility.
- Employees in this role do not have assigned regular routes but cover open routes in the absence of the assigned courier.
- Depending on the station size and location, DG specialist requirements may vary, subject to Senior Management discretion.
- Role requires adherence to Windows-based work environment and successful completion of periodic training and accreditation maintenance.
- In Quebec, bilingualism is mandatory as per job requirements.
- Driver applicants must have a valid license class appropriate for local regulations (e.g., Class 5, G, or 1[AZ]) and have no more than two infractions or accidents in the prior 24 months.
- Evaluation criteria include annual driving record, interview performance, and driving assessments.
