About the Role

Join our team as a qualified Cable Jointer working across multiple locations including New Forest, Yeovil, Poole, Salisbury, West London, Slough, Reading, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, Basingstoke, Aldershot, Petersfield, Swindon, Melksham, and Oxford. This permanent full-time onsite position offers a competitive package with the base salary ranging from £36,139 to £43,188, plus overtime and standby payments, with total on-target earnings circa £50,000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform jointing, cabling, and excavation tasks on both high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) networks, including pre-planned jobs and responsive emergency work.
  • Ensure safety for yourself and your colleagues, promoting a robust safety culture throughout all activities.
  • Respond swiftly to emergency situations such as severe weather to maintain a reliable power supply.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions and participate in out-of-hours standby duties.
  • Represent the company professionally by delivering excellent customer service at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • Hold recognised DNO electrical qualifications relevant for cable jointing (LV, HV, 11kV or 33kV) obtained through a certified training provider.
  • Demonstrate previous jointer experience with proven expertise in electrical plant and equipment construction, repair, and operation up to 11kV.
  • Possess sound technical knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems.
  • Exhibit flexibility and readiness to perform standby duties and address short-notice jobs, especially during severe weather conditions.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety standards, good communication abilities, and adaptability to evolving business and project demands.
  • Experience with excavation of joint holes using hand tools or mini excavators (training available if required).
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
