About the Role
We are seeking qualified Cable Jointers to become part of our team, operating primarily out of locations including New Forest, Yeovil, Poole, Salisbury, West London, Slough, Reading, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, Basingstoke, Aldershot, Petersfield, Swindon, Melksham, and Oxford. This permanent, full-time onsite position offers a base salary between £36,139 and £43,188, complemented by opportunities for overtime and standby payments, reaching an on-target earning of approximately £50,000.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform jointing, cabling, and excavation tasks on HV and LV networks, both on scheduled projects and rapid response assignments.
- Prioritize safety for yourself and colleagues, embodying our commitment to a strong safety culture.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including unpredictable severe weather events, ensuring reliable service delivery to customers.
- Work outdoors regardless of weather conditions, including fulfilling out-of-hours standby duties.
- Represent the company professionally by delivering excellent customer service at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven prior experience working as a cable jointer.
- Possess electrical qualifications specific to Distribution Network Operators (DNO) in the UK or internationally, certified for LV, HV, 11kV or 33kV jointing by a recognized training institution.
- Sound knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems.
- Willingness to engage in flexible working arrangements involving out-of-hours standby and sudden deployment during storm or emergency scenarios.
- Strong safety awareness with the ability to communicate technical details effectively, adaptable to shifting priorities, and motivated with a proactive work approach.
- Experience with excavation work on joint holes using hand tools; training for mini excavator operation is provided if needed.
- Mandatory possession of a valid full UK driving licence.
