Job description
Overview
Zendesk is reshaping global service delivery. Alongside a premier customer experience and service platform, in under three years we've launched a $200 million ARR AI business—the fastest expanding product line in our history—serving over 20,000 customers. Our AI automates up to 80% of service interactions and is poised for further growth.
This position offers an opportunity to develop a career in cutting-edge software sales focused on AI and advanced technology.
Role Importance
The Business Development Representative (BDR) team powers growth across one of the world's fastest growing regions. You will proactively target high-growth SMB, Commercial, and Enterprise accounts, gaining access to some of the most prominent brands in Australia & New Zealand, influencing how they implement AI for enhanced customer experience.
Rather than just arranging meetings, you will delve into authentic challenges, craft value propositions, and impact multimillion-dollar deals early in the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with executive-level prospects to identify gaps in customer experience, AI, and service operations.
- Generate a robust pipeline through focused outbound prospecting.
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives, Product, and Marketing teams to execute coordinated initiatives in priority accounts.
- Qualify opportunities using a consultative, value-driven methodology.
- Manage your sales pipeline with rigor, transparency, and an exceptional customer focus.
- Participate as part of a Melbourne-based onsite team three days per week that emphasizes continuous learning and collaborative growth.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of two years' experience in sales or business development roles across SMB, Commercial, or Enterprise segments.
- Possess a competitive, resilient, and self-motivated attitude.
- Demonstrate curiosity about AI, SaaS, and modern go-to-market approaches.
- Exhibit effective and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Show a committed interest in building a long-term career within software sales.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
