Within our Small Law New Business team, we focus on accelerating digital and generative AI transformations in boutique law firms, covering practices ranging from sole practitioners to firms with up to 10 solicitors.

Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager, you will lead new business growth in the small law legal market through proactive cold calling, prospecting, and closing deals to meet monthly revenue targets. This permanent, full-time position is located in Melbourne or Adelaide, with flexible work options combining home and office environments for a balanced lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and drive new business acquisition through persistent outbound efforts including cold calls, emails, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Conduct thorough client discovery and qualification using proven sales methodologies to tailor recommendations aligned with LexisNexis solutions.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing, demonstrating a strong track record in fast-paced market settings.
  • Establish and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders in targeted accounts.
  • Maintain precise records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline progress to forecast sales outcomes accurately.
  • Collaborate with leadership and marketing teams to generate leads and identify new business opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in business development or sales, preferably within B2B, professional services, legal, or technology sectors.
  • Exceptional closing and negotiation abilities, with experience securing deals valued at $100,000 or more.
  • Proven aptitude for building and managing client relationships at various organizational levels.
  • Skilled in consultative, solution-driven sales approaches.
  • Highly driven, results-focused, and self-motivated to surpass goals.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills capable of delivering persuasive proposals and effectively engaging decision-makers.
