Role Overview

The Cases Lead for the Pacific region ensures seamless operational delivery of case law content that consistently meets LexisNexis' standards for quality, timeliness, precision, and readiness for AI integration. This role functions as the central regional liaison for all matters related to case law content operations, overseeing editorial workflows, tracking performance metrics, leading continual improvements, and managing key relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders involved in content production.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee case law editorial operations within Pacific jurisdictions.
• Track and analyze editorial performance indicators, timeliness, service levels, and quality benchmarks.
• Maintain editorial excellence, ensuring compliance with LexisNexis publishing standards and consistency in output.
• Serve as the primary regional representative for case law operational queries and issues.
• Manage partnerships and communications with courts, reporters, vendors, licensors, and external content contributors.
• Lead projects aimed at operational enhancements, workflow optimization, and regional editorial initiatives.
• Champion the use of AI-enabled editorial methodologies, engaging in experimentation with upcoming technologies.
• Collaborate across Product, Technology, Data Science, Editorial, and Commercial teams to enrich legal content and improve user experience.

Requirements

• Education: Mandatory LLB or equivalent legal qualification. Certifications or experience in legal technology, artificial intelligence, publishing, or project management are advantageous.
• Experience: Preferably experience in legal practice, publishing, legal research, or editorial operation domains. Familiarity with case law content, legal analysis, or legal information products is expected. Exposure to digital publishing platforms, legal tech tools, or AI-assisted workflows adds value.
• Legal and Editorial Skills: Proficient in conducting legal research and analysis. Deep understanding of case law trends and legal systems in Australia and New Zealand jurisdictions. Excellent editorial judgment, reading comprehension, and attention to detail. Ability to identify emerging legal issues and interpret customer research requirements. Superior written and verbal communication aptitude.
• Digital and AI Capabilities: Knowledgeable about AI and Generative AI advancements within legal research and publishing. Familiarity with principles of AI-prepared content, metadata standards, structured legal content, and adaptability to evolving AI-driven editorial environments. Experience with legal research platforms, content management systems, and digital publishing technologies is desirable.
• Operational Expertise: Strong organizational and project management capabilities. Ability to prioritize and meet competing deadlines in dynamic settings. Experience collaborating across multiple teams and jurisdictions. Skilled in problem-solving and continual process improvements. Familiarity with Agile or continuous improvement practices is preferred.
