Job description
About the Role
We are collaborating with a reputable non-profit organisation to recruit a dynamic Business Development Specialist dedicated to launching an innovative subscription platform tailored for New Zealand's SME sector. This role focuses on initiating new business relationships rather than managing existing ones, playing a key role in establishing the product's market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and develop new business connections by proactively reaching out to SME decision-makers across New Zealand and converting prospects into active partners.
- Drive the entire sales cycle from initial discovery conversations, product demonstrations, proposal presentations, through to closing deals.
- Engage with essential stakeholders including business owners, founders, operations managers, and HR professionals.
- Provide valuable market insights to influence improvements in sales tactics, value propositions, and customer onboarding processes.
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline activities with timely follow-ups, reliable forecasting, and clearly defined conversion targets.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated success in B2B business development through outbound prospecting and lead generation, preferably with experience selling subscription services, memberships, or workplace-related solutions.
- Strong knowledge of the New Zealand SME market and effective communication skills tailored to busy business owners.
- Consultative selling approach featuring active listening, efficient objection handling, and persuasive closing techniques.
- Highly self-motivated and organised with disciplined CRM practices and a target-driven attitude.
Why Join Us?
- Work within a mission-driven, collaborative non-profit environment that values its employees and their impact.
- Ownership of a new product line, allowing you significant influence over its growth and commercial strategy.
Additional Information
Applicants passionate about guiding a nascent product from market launch to leadership are encouraged to apply, including a resume and a summary of their outbound B2B sales achievements.
