Senior Analytics Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer / BI Consultant to oversee complete data delivery for a prominent data solutions consultancy based in Auckland. This role is hands-on and consulting-focused, requiring the translation of business needs into scalable analytics solutions. The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to craft both conceptual and detailed data models while actively participating in technical implementation utilizing modern cloud data architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models tailored to business needs.
• Develop and sustain scalable dbt models, Snowflake schemas, and data transformation pipelines.
• Conduct requirements gathering workshops, document specifications, and interface with executive-level stakeholders.
• Build data ingestion and presentation layers supporting enterprise reporting and BI platforms.
• Ensure technical delivery quality by applying software engineering best practices such as version control and CI/CD processes.

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience leading data and analytics solution deployments and managing enterprise data platforms and warehouses.
• Proficient in advanced SQL development with extensive experience working hands-on with Snowflake and dbt.
• Solid implementation expertise in dimensional modeling (Kimball methodology), data vault modeling, and modern ELT frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder communication and consulting abilities to work effectively with both technical teams and business users.
• A pragmatic and analytical approach focused on problem-solving, data quality, and governance at the enterprise level.
