About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Specialist to partner with a reputable non-profit organization in Christchurch, New Zealand. This role focuses on launching and expanding a new subscription-based platform tailored to support the SME sector in New Zealand by helping businesses attract, retain, and reward their employees through a specialized benefits and engagement solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate new business by identifying and engaging SME leaders across New Zealand, creating lasting partnerships.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including discovery conversations, product demonstrations, proposal presentations, and closing deals.
  • Connect with critical decision makers such as business owners, founders, operational managers, and HR professionals to advance sales opportunities.
  • Provide valuable market insights and customer feedback to refine sales strategies, messaging, and customer onboarding processes.
  • Maintain a well-organized sales pipeline with regular follow-ups, accurate sales forecasting, and measurable conversion targets.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated success in B2B outbound sales, particularly in generating leads and closing deals related to subscription services, memberships, or workplace solutions.
  • Strong familiarity with the New Zealand SME landscape and effective communication strategies to engage busy business proprietors.
  • Excellent consultative selling skills, including active listening, proficient objection management, and a customer-centric approach to closing sales.
  • Self-driven with strong organizational capabilities and disciplined use of CRM systems to achieve defined sales targets.
