Business Development Associate - Cross Border Sales

Overview

Corpay is seeking a Business Development Associate to join their Cross Border division based in Montreal, QC. The role entails collaborating with an experienced sales team to identify and develop new business opportunities across North America within the foreign exchange market. The Associate will offer leading solutions for currency risk management and global payments tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises across the continent. The position reports directly to the Director of Business Development and requires close cooperation with account managers and sales colleagues to meet client needs.

Working Environment

The role is office-based in Montreal, where Corpay supports new hires by providing an assigned workspace, company equipment, and comprehensive, structured training.

Responsibilities

• Engage business owners, C-suite executives, and finance leaders with personalized presentations of currency risk management and global payment solutions.
• Work closely with a skilled sales team to develop new business opportunities in the North American foreign exchange arena.
• Deliver advanced currency risk management and global payment products to small and medium-sized businesses continent-wide.
• Carry out daily outreach efforts including cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn messaging to qualify leads and schedule meetings or disqualify prospects when appropriate.
• Generate new business for Corpay while advancing professional sales expertise and career growth within the financial services sector.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience ranging from entry-level to up to 4 years in customer service, inside sales, or comparable roles.
• Completed post-secondary education or equivalent relevant work history.
• Fluent bilingual communication skills in French and English, with effective selling capabilities in both languages.
• Strong self-motivation, competitiveness, and a driven attitude towards creating new business opportunities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset combined with intuitive, strategic thinking towards business development.
• Resilience in handling rejection and eagerness to initiate contact via phone and other channels.
• Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to engage prospects effectively.
• Positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and a natural curiosity to understand foreign exchange’s role in business.
