Job description
Role Overview
The Branch Head (BH) oversees and manages all activities within a bank branch, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with regulations while driving strategies to boost productivity and meet financial targets. A significant responsibility includes maintaining strong relationships with key account holders to deepen engagement and enhance revenue.
Key Duties
- Manage the daily operations effectively, including lending, product sales, and customer service aligned with bank objectives.
- Devise growth plans for the branch business in collaboration with the Cluster Head.
- Lead the branch team to implement these plans to achieve revenue targets.
- Build and strengthen connections with major customers to secure sustained business growth.
- Review regular financial and operational reports, taking proactive steps to uphold profitability and ethical standards.
- Ensure all internal and external audit requirements are fulfilled according to standards.
- Maintain adherence to prescribed processes and guidelines.
- Cultivate a performance-driven culture promoting staff motivation and productivity.
- Ensure comprehensive training of all employees on banking products, sales techniques, and policies.
- Address and report any operational disruptions promptly to maintain branch functionality.
- Coordinate with cluster and other branch offices for seamless operation and achievement of business goals.
- Oversee the maintenance and security of branch property and assets.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate degree required, MBA in Marketing preferred from a recognized institution.
- Certifications such as NCFM and AMFI are necessary.
- 10 to 15 years of professional experience within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector.
Skills and Competencies
- Comprehensive understanding of banking products and services.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills both in English and the local language (written and verbal).
- Capability to effectively manage complex client relationships and situations.
- Skill in navigating risk and uncertainty for both self and team within dynamic environments.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
