Bid Manager

About the Role

Bentley Systems is seeking a Bid Manager to lead and coordinate the company's critical bids for major global infrastructure projects. This position, based in Brisbane with options for hybrid or home-based working in Australia, requires managing complex, multi-disciplinary proposal processes within tight deadlines. The Bid Manager acts as the central figure ensuring alignment among Sales, Legal, Product, and Finance teams to deliver compliant, competitive submissions. This role protects Bentley’s revenue flow by driving strategic focus and governance throughout the bid lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate binding and non-binding bids, developing detailed plans and schedules.
• Manage contributors and oversee review processes to uphold quality and compliance.
• Maintain ongoing engagement with sales teams and participate in regional pipeline meetings when needed.
• Provide regular reporting on opportunity status and support execution of pursuit strategies.
• Implement best practices in bid management, ensure consistency, and promote continuous improvement.
• Optionally, leverage AI tools for workflow automation, advanced prompt engineering, and tender analysis to enhance bid efficiency.
• Support regional projects, contributing to growth initiatives, analytics, and sales enablement.
• Measure success through metrics such as on-time delivery, bid quality, stakeholder feedback, opportunity conversion, and process adherence.

Qualifications and Experience

• Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are advantageous.
• Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or a related area, or equivalent commercial experience in solutions or IT sectors.
• Minimum of three years in bid, proposal, or tender management, with proven success handling complex, high-value bids including public sector RFPs and RFIs.
• APMP certification at any level (Foundation, Practitioner, Professional) preferred.
• Experience with structured bid methodologies such as Shipley Associates.
• Strong project management skills, with PMP or PRINCE2 certifications considered an asset.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with proposal automation software.
